Finding Meaning in a Frantic World

Many of our lives have been flipped upside down during this season. Instead of trying to survive, we should also make time for the big questions in life. Why is the world so broken? Why is progress in our lives and world so hard to achieve? Ecclesiastes takes us through the brokenness of life but leads us to some ultimate answers. The Professor shows us live beyond the daily grind and opens up to us the possibility of a life that echoes throughout eternity.

Where can you find the best the advice on how to life your life? Our age is filled with information, advice, self-help but also disinformation and lies. How can we find true wisdom for life? Ecclesiastes shows us the futility of the wisdom of this age and points us toward an eternal wisdom that leads to eternal life.

In challenging times, it’s easy to escape through alcohol, sex and entertainment. But in the morning we come to realize the emptiness of those pursuits. Ecclesiastes shows us the way to lasting joy and ultimate meaning.

We use most of our life worrying about the “big things” in life like our career, money and retirement. But in midst of the hustle we can lose our sense of joy in the ordinary and everyday things of life. Ecclesiastes reminds us to find joy in the little thing in life that add up to very big things in God’s eyes.

In the difficult moments of our life we can be tempted to despair or deny its reality. But Ecclesiastes shows us how to find God’s wisdom during hard times.

Life is filled with seemingly random tragedies and unspeakable injustices. Is life a series of disconnected accidents or is there a divine purpose in all of the events of life? Ecclesiastes shows us how God’s providence and His plan to make all things new.

At the end of Ecclesiastes, the Professor shows us the ultimate meaning of life. In a frantic and fickle world, God is the enteral King who will bring all things together according to his ultimate plan. God’s people are called to live with an eternal perspective for a glorious King.
