A Weary World Rejoices
Advent is a season for those who feel wearied and battered to find a reason for hope. Isaiah tells us that there is a coming king who will come with both power and compassion; who will bring both justice and peace. The hope of the king keeps us soaring through the difficult seasons of life.
Advent is a season in which we not only await the coming of our King, but the coming of a just Judge who will bring a long awaited justice. In a world of inequality and injustice, God will gently but faithfully lead us to a long awaited place of peace.

Many people this season are far from home or feel not at home with all of the disruptions of this past season. The promise of Advent is that God will make a new home for us that is secure, abundant and filled with life. This home comes to us in Jesus’ first arrival and will be completed when He comes again to bring a new heaven and a new earth.
